Twenty@ Technology
Accurent Ventures invested $400K into the formal seed round of Twenty@, a mobile search architecture and monetization platform. Capital from the seed round was used for further tech development and early user adoption.
Twenty@ was funded by leading venture funds and Silicon Valley investors. The company rebranded as Search@ in 2016, offering real time peer-to-peer search, on demand services and a user-owned digital content ecosystem.
Search@ addresses an audience of up to 2.5 billion users in developing countries. Owners of budget smartphones, these users carefully limit activity to calling and OTT mobile messaging. Given their high data costs and poor bandwidth, they have been largely inaccessible to Google and other large digital marketplace/network players. Therein the unique opportunity: deploying data-lite OTT Search@ to address this unserved audience block offers a once-in-a-generation opportunity to induct users into a new set of online and search behavioral patterns.
In late 2019, Search@ announced a formal joint venture partnership with Monsoon Blockchain Inc., exploring new possibilities in eSports and digital storage.
“Accurent Ventures was an early investor, coming in strongly for $400K in the seed round of our mobile search startup. Will Corbett proved to be not only a value-add investor and board member, but a long-term supportive one. As Managing Partner of Notos Capital over the past several years, Accurent is one of my first calls for strong venture and private equity financings. The Accurent team has been an incredible resource for family offices and institutional capital for our best and often most complex financings.”
